Columbia Sabre Smoothing Blades – Drywall Skimming Blades

Columbia Sabre Smoothing Blades – Drywall Skimming Blades

Columbia Sabre Smoothing Blades (7″–48″) – Lightweight Drywall Skimming Blades

The Columbia Sabre Smoothing Blades give drywall contractors professional results in a lighter, more affordable format. They do not replace Tomahawk (Columbia’s premium option); rather, Sabre is the solution for customers looking for a lighter/more affordable option. The body profile remains the same as the Tomahawk’s for familiar control, but the frame is high-quality plastic instead of billet aluminum, making Sabre about 60% lighter while maintaining a precise finish.

Use by hand for detail work or pair with the Sabre Claw Adapter (SBC) and Sabre Pole (SBP) for reach on walls and ceilings. Sabre’s hardened stainless steel blade, rounded anti-trace edges, and bi-flex PVC plate deliver smooth, even compound flow across the full length of the blade.

Why Contractors Choose Sabre

  • Lighter handling, less fatigue: High-quality plastic body is ~60% lighter than Tomahawk.
  • Familiar control: Same body profile as Tomahawk for consistent feel and balance.
  • Pro finish materials: Hardened stainless steel blade with rounded anti-trace edges.
  • Controlled flexibility: Bi-flex PVC plate evens pressure and compound distribution.
  • Versatile setup: Use by hand or with Sabre Claw Adapter (SBC) + Sabre Pole (SBP) (sold separately).

Choose Your Size (Guided Use)

  • 7″–10″: Tight areas, wiping down tape, touch-ups, windows/returns.
  • 12″–16″: General finishing, second coats, butt joints, small rooms.
  • 18″–24″: Broadwall leveling, final coats, standard ceilings/walls.
  • 32″–48″: Large surfaces, high coverage skimming, ceilings and open walls.

Note: Sabre Claw Adapter (SBC) and Sabre Pole (SBP) are sold separately. Works by hand or with adapter/pole.
